Porcelain Veneers are the Lexus of Cosmetic Dentistry. With Porcelain Veneers, teeth that are discolored, crowded, spaced, misshapen, or broken can be made brilliantly beautiful and lifelike. With only two treatment visits, many patients can have the beautiful smile they always wanted. After ensuring that the teeth and gums are healthy, the dentist will remove a thin layer (about 1.5mm) from the front and sides of the teeth to be veneered. Impressions are taken for the porcelain artist to use in fabricating the thin porcelain veneers. Temporary acrylic veneers are then made and cemented to the teeth for the 2 to 3 weeks it takes to have the veneers made.
